The BioRad (MJ research) PTC200 is a proven PCR work horse throughout the years. As anyone that’s ever used a thermal cycler, you know the MJ research PTC-200 is an optimal choice that will last you for years to come. The MJ Research PTC 200 is a gradient thermo cycler that has swappable alpha blocks. The unit can be supplied with range of blocks including 96 well, or dual 48 well alpha blocks.
The MJ Research PTC-200 PCR allows for oil free operation by using the hot bonnet. The PTC- 200 DNA Engine used for gene amplification is a compact (14”10”x10”) design and as stated is truly reliable. The unit uses extremely precise Peltier-effect heat pumps, which are designed for repeated cycling. The temperature range of the unit can be set electronically and ranges from 0C – 100C. Ramping rates are up to 3°C/sec in models that hold 0.2ml tubes or V-well plates; The unit also displays great temperature consistency, +/- 0.4C within 30 seconds of arrival at 60C for standard models. The PTC-200 from MJ Research also has large sized built in memory and software that allows control of every thermal function. There is also a 400 program memory that allows for individually secured directories, so no more worrying about someone messing up your predefined program or accidentally deleting it.
