The Becton Dickinson FACSCalibur Flow Cytometry System is a compact, modular solution that accommodates both cell sorting and cell analysis. This easily upgraded system adapts to the evolving clinical and research requirements as well as new and emerging sorting and automation requirements. This flow cytometer utilizes standard multicolor analysis thanks to dual laser technology, interbeam compensation and alignment free optical design. Using a dual laser design for multi color analysis, the BD FACSCalibur features an air cooled argon laser and a red diode laser that are spatially separated.  


Optical path configuration to incorporates multiple fluorochromes has maximized the amount of information gained from a single sample making assays more cost effective. The Becton Dickinson FACSCalibur Flow Cytometry System is high performance, with superior sensitivity, maximum flexibility and minimal compensation. With its high speed analysis and multiparameter triggering system, the BD FACSCalibur flow cytometer is capable of rare-event detection like the characterization of subpopulation of stem cells. The BD FACSCalibur Flow Cytometry System is supported by a broad suite of user friendly software, designed to streamline a wide assortment of applications.


Applications such as enumeration of lymphocyte subsets, residual white blood cells, Reticulocytes, DNA analysis, immune function studies, stem cells, bead based immunoassays and multiplexed analysis of signal transduction and phosphorylation targets. It also offers a robust quality control system. The BD FACstation data management system is easy to use and automates many software functions, delivering fast acquisition and analysis tools for reporting, gating, statistical analysis and creating plots.

This BD FACSCalibur 4 Color, 2 Laser Flow Cytometer comes fully calibrated to factory specification and includes the BD High Throughput Autosampler, but we also have spare sample loaders in stock if needed.  When installing your FACSCalibur, an area with proper 12” clearance on the sides and 9” at the back will keep air flowing and ventilate the instrument. This cytometer kicks out 5,000 BTU/hr of heat so it is recommended that the environment be air conditioned for comfort and to keep the instrument from overheating.
