You Can Now Take an Interactive Tour of the International Space Station
Italian astronaut and Captain in the Italian Air Force Samantha Cristoforetti returned to Earth last month after spending 199 days on board the International Space Station (ISS) as a Flight Engineer for Expedition 42 and 43. Before leaving, Cristoforetti snapped 15 photos inside each of the ISS’s modules. The European Space Agency has used these photos to create an interactive panoramic view of ISS as it was in June 2015 after the crew moved the Leonardo module from the Unity node to the Tranquility node.
As listed on the NASA website: International Space Station Tour – The International Space Station is a unique scientific platform where astronauts conduct experiments across multiple disciplines of research – including Earth and space science, biology, human physiology, physical sciences, and technology demonstrations – that cannot be performed anywhere on Earth. In 2020, the station celebrated 20 years of a continuous human presence aboard the orbiting laboratory.
