Rocking Motion Bioreactor - Wave 20/50EH

The WAVE Bioreactor System 20/50EH is a modular Rocking Motion Bioreactor that aids in the production of batch, fed-batch and perfusion cultures. This wave rocker system consists of a base unit that’s compatible with various integral options and is set up with a CO2 mixer and a load cell.  The benchtop design makes for easy access and convenient control. The heater can range between 10 above ambient to 50°C, making it ideal for thawing frozen materials and warming blood and other biological fluid, or maintaining temperatures during pooling operations.

The rocking angle of between 2-10°. The size of the cell bag used determines the optimal speed ranges but typically, a rocking rate of 25 to 40 rocks per minute will satisfy most mixing requirements.  Pre-sterilized, single-use cell bags protect from risk of cross-contamination, involve minimal validation and are ready-to-use, requiring no cleaning. These systems are capable of handling culture volumes from 100 mL to 20 L depending on the tray used, and allows you to control the degree of angle, rocking speed, and heater temperature through easy to read, digital control screens.

The GE Wave Biotech CO2Mix20 provides your bioreactor cell bags with variable carbon dioxide concentrations. This air controller is designed to work in tandem with the Biotech Bioreactors, inflating, ventilating, and maintaining pressure for aeration and pH control of mammalian cell cultures. The regulator of this mixer adjusts the gas pressure, measures the CO2 concentration, and maintains the user’s set point, up to 15%. Connection to the Wave Bioreactors is set up through a MODBUS data port. Also included is a loadcell controller that adds the capability to continuously weigh materials in the mixing bag. This enables dispensing precise volumes while rocking. and can be used for automated fill/harvest and perfusion operations where precise volume control is critical
