- EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
The Waters Acquity UPLC system provides you with reproducible, dependable and data rich results for challenging separations. This UPLC system features a wide range of flow rates, back pressures and linear velocities, with increased throughput with high efficiency so you get the most for your time and resources. This contained tower system holds a sample manager, column heater, binary solvent manager, and a PDA detector. This ultra-performance liquid chromatography system has a unique sub 2 μm particle system that offers 3 times the efficiency of a 5 μm system with 70% higher resolution. This higher resolution means more information from more samples in less time. The Waters UPLC sytem can then run separations at a flow rate 3 times faster than HPLC, without a loss in resolution.
The Waters Acquity UPLC system easily converts HPLC methods to UPLC thanks to the UPLC console calculator built to support existing HPLC Methods and coordinate with third party MS solutions such as those offered by Sciex, Bruker Daltonics and Thermo Fisher. Data acquired by the Acquity system is managed, analyzed and stored by Empower Software, a user friendly graphic icon based interface, run on a windows PC. This powerful software allows users to see results in real time, with a summary of previous data collected. This ultra-performance LC system can sample up to 80 data points per second, of for the fast scan a sample rate of 25-50 points is recommended. The Acquity UPLC can store up to 4 solvents and has a settable flow rate of 0.001 to 2.000 mL/min, in 0.001 mL increments. This UPLC system comes with a photodiode array detector with a brand new lamp and a wavelength range of 190 to 500 nm, and a column heater that can accommodate waters columns up to 4.6 mm ID and 150mm long with a temperature range of 5°C above ambient to 65°C.
