LulzBot Bio FRESH 3D Printer
The LulzBot Bio FRESH 3D Printer is an innovative and optimized bioprinting method designed to bring research closer to recreating human physiology. This 3D bioprinter works with freeform reversible embedding of suspended hydrogels, such as unmodified collagen, alginate, and other soft materials. Users can leverage this for various tasks, from regenerative medicine and multiscale vasculature to fully functional heart tissue and much more.
The LulzBot Bio fully controls environmental conditions through a variable temperature heated bed, allowing for quality control from start to finish. The syringe pump extruder allows for high detail even with varying viscosities, with an XYZ positional accuracy of 10, 10, and 5 μm, respectively, and a minimum layer resolution of 0.05mm. The syringe pump system is also configurable to adjust for new materials and processes. Users can control their bio printer through a touchscreen display or a PC.
The Lulzbot Bio Printer is compact, so it won’t take up more space on the bench or a laminar flow cabinet while maintaining a large build volume. Its construction also allows for easy sterilization through ethyl alcohol and UV lights. This 3D printer’s open-source nature allows it to be adjusted to new materials, expanding its use to include photo-curable resins, thermosets, silicon, epoxies, and more.
