Eppendorf 5415R Refrigerated Centrifuge
Centrifuges - Refrigerated Centrifuges
- EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
The Eppendorf 5415R Centrifuge is a bentchtop refrigerated centrifuge with the same user friendly features of its cousins the non-refrigerated 5415D and 5415C. This includes the almost indestructible maintenance-free drive, which requires only 13 seconds to accelerate to the maximum speed of 13,200 rpm (max. rcf: 16,000 x g). The fixed angle rotor equipped with the Eppendorf 5415R runs so smooth that particles have already been pelleted are not unintentionally re-suspended.
The Eppendorf 5415R refrigerated microcentrifuge enables rapid and reliable refrigerated centrifugation in a temperature range between 0 °C and 40 °C. The Eppendorf 5415R centrifuge temperature-sensitive samples are maintained safely at 4 °C, even at maximum speed. In the stand-by mode, the centrifuge then can be set to the desired temperature. With the aid of the Fast Cool function, refreshing 4 °C can be attained within a mere 16 minutes. One undisputed innovation on the Eppendorf 5415R microcentrifuge is the new motorized lid latch. Two built-in gripper arms close the newly designed lid automatically.

The Eppendorf 5415R Centrifuge comes with everything pictured in this listing. Our service team has run a full preventative maintenance service on these centrifuges from speed tests and decontamination to refrigeration, and carefully checking components for integrity.
When setting up the Eppendorf Centrifuge 5415R let the compressor settle before powering up for least 4 hours. This refrigerated microcentrifuge should be installed in an area that’s away from direct sunlight, on a solid, non-resonant lab bench. To ensure proper circulation, refrigeration capacity, and safety, a clearance of 30 cm/ 12” should be observed. When transferring the centrifuge between cold rooms and normal lab environments it is important to allow the instrument to come to temperature, 30 minutes going into a cold room, and up to 3hrs leaving the cold room before connecting to the power supply to avoid damage from condensation.
Becoming familiar with the 5415R Centrifuge prior to operation and proper maintenance is key to ensuring uninterrupted, dependable use. Maintaining the refrigerated microcentrifuge such as regularly emptying and cleaning the condensation water collector, and making sure the drain is clear will help keep it tip-top shape. Prior to a run, visually inspect tubes to make sure you’re not exceeding the maximum load, as the risk of breakage increases with the increase of speed and rcf. Once a month it is best to clean the centrifuge rotor, inspect it for damage, then refitting the rotor seating and bolting back into place. These preventative checks help to ensure you avoid downtime. The Lab World Group wants to make sure you get the most from your investment so we are on hand to help troubleshoot installation and operation. All of our instruments come with our standard 30-Day Warranty and typically ship within 3 days of a completed sale.
