The Eppendorf 5804R Refrigerated Centrifuge gives users a reliable, powerful separation of medium volume samples that require tight temperature control. This robust and adaptable refrigerated centrifuge delivers highly accurate timing (±2 s in 5 min.), speed (1%), and temperature (±2°C at 6°C) for maximum run reproducibility. The 5804R also has a low access height and a soft touch close lid, making it comfortable to load and unload cell culture and blood samples.
The Eppendorf 5804R offers a fast-cool feature that pre-cools the centrifuge chamber before use. This Fast Cool feature means rotor chamber, rotor, buckets, and adapters are already primed for a temperature control run without downtime. From the upfront control panel users can select their temperature with the range of –9°C to 40°C. These cooling temperatures can be maintained even at high speeds. The standby cooling feature maintains the temperature after a run is completed, yet is energy efficient. This is achieved with an eco shut off that powers down after 8 hours of non-use.
This shut off helps extend the compressor life and reduces energy consumption saving you money. The Eppendorf 5804R also has dynamic compressor control that helps balance cooling performance with energy savings. Additional environmental conservation efforts in all Eppendorf centrifuges include brushless induction motors that help eliminate carbon particles and rotors made mostly of recycled aluminum.
The Eppendorf 5804R reaches high centrifugation speeds up to 14,000, with a maximum RCF of 20,913 x g. The Eppendorf 5804R has a maximum capacity of 4 × 250 mL, with a maximum density of 1.2 g/mL and can also accommodate 2 × 5 MTP. This refrigerated centrifuge can be used in a wide range of industries including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, R&D, food, beverage, and academic labs.
This microprocessor-controlled, laboratory centrifuge will store up to 35 user-defined programs. This lets users create and store frequently used protocols and helps to keep things moving in the lab. The programming also includes 10 acceleration and 10 braking profiles. Parameters, programming and statuses can all be accessed from the easy to read digital display and upfront control panel. From this control panel users also set their desired times of up to 99 minutes, select continuous operation or choose a simple short spin. The Eppendorf 5804R runs quietly at 58 dBA so it won't be a distraction to the workplace. The centrifuge's compact size with side compressor helps save bench space while still delivering on performance.
The versatility and adaptability of this benchtop centrifuge provides several instruments in one. Accommodating high capacity, up to a full liter for more general purpose applications, high speeds up to 14000 rpm for separating cell lysates, and microcentrifuge capabilities for DNA applications.
This flexibility of the 5804R achieved through the rotor library available from Eppendorf. This centrifuge uses automatic rotor recognition and imbalance detection gives you optimal speed control and safety. For high-speed applications, the low weight fixed-angle rotors cause less wear and tear on the system. Compatible fixed-angle rotors will hold volumes from 0.2 mL up to 85 mL covering a wide spectrum of usage. Plate rotors can accommodate all types from MTP, PCR, cell culture of Deepwell plates.
Swing bucket rotors and adapters for the Eppendorf 5804R can fit tubes and bottles from 0.2 ml up to 250 ml. These bucket rotors are aerodynamically designed to save up to 48% in energy consumption. Swing bucket rotors also offer the versatility of mixed loading capabilities. Please note, for safety and optimal operation, users should always load all positions with tubes of the same type and volume and make sure they're symmetrical. If unusual noises occur when centrifugation begins the rotor may not be properly secured. Users can find adapters for a wide variety of tubes and plates, including PCR trips, micro containers, spin columns, cryogenic tubs, bottles, cell culture flasks, and even slides. Adapter specific manual radius adjustments help guarantee the best RCF accuracy.
This benchtop centrifuge is outfitted with an A-4-44 Swing Rotor, a high-speed swing-bucket rotor built for applications up to 4500 x g or 500rpm. This swing bucket rotor can accommodate volumes between 0.2ml and 100ml when using different inserts. The included inserts are two blue single tube 30 mm by 82 mm tube adapters, and two orange inserts that hold seven tubes, at 16 mm x 75mm. This swing bucket rotor holds tube adapters to suit your needs. The rotor, buckets, and adapters are all autoclavable.
After receiving this refrigerated clinical centrifuge, it's best to allow 4 hours before turning the power on. This allows the compressor to completely settle and run at peak performance. This also allows the device to warm up to ambient temperature and helps protect electrical components by reducing condensation.
Ice may form inside the centrifuge chamber and should be removed regularly with a soft absorbent cloth. Part of maintaining this refrigerated centrifuge also includes emptying and cleaning the condensation water tray. Switching off the power to eliminate any ice that forms during defrosting. The condensation try can be found just below the compressor area on the front of the instrument.
This refrigerated centrifuge has flexible placement, operating with a 120v power supply. The low opening height also allows the centrifuge to be used easily under standard shelving.
