Applied Biosystems 2720 Thermal Cycler
The Applied Biosystems (ABI) 2720 Thermal Cycler provides users with an automated, compact PCR machine, with an integrated thermal block and simple operations. This thermal cycler operates much in the same manner as the ABI 9700 with a nearly identical interface, however this system vents out of the back allowing you to pack them tight on the bench for multiple processing. The 96-well sample block is built in, with aluminum construction for consistent heating, with platinum sensors that cover a wide temperature range, between 4-99°C.
This sample block also accommodates several different types of disposable tubes and plates, and is required to create a sealed chamber. The ABI 2720 has a maximum ramp rate of 2.7°C Seconds per block and 2.6°C per sample. This thermal cycler also houses an internal Peltier heating and cooling system. Navigating the menus is easy from the upfront control panel and allows you to create and store 100 methods.
