The GE ImageQuant LAS 500 Imager is a powerful little imager, about the size of a small laptop, that will fit just about anywhere you need it most.  This compact chemiluminescent imager can work independently without the need for a dedicated PC, making it an ideal, quiet, affordable solution for labs looking to increase the current capabilities or flexibility of their own imager. The LAS 500 Imager’s interface quickly guides users with a touch-based screen, getting the best image possible through auto, semi-auto, or increment exposure modes.

The GE ImageQuant LAS 500 Imager consists of a camera, light sources, sample chamber, USB port, and a touchscreen. This gel imager features three LED light sources, a white epi-light, and a blue epi-, UV epi- light (combined) that allows for fluorescence signals above 550 nm. This bandwidth makes this compact imager a great choice for DNA stain imaging with SYBR Green, ethidium bromide, or Deep Purple Total Protein Stain. The white epi-light source (470 to 635 nm) enables documentation of colorimetric markers and stains, such as Coomassie Blue or Silver.

The GE ImageQuant LAS 500 Imager can detect picogram levels of samples with chemiluminescence and has an automatic overlay function that will simultaneously image samples and colored molecular weight markers. This compact imager will store images in the system, on a USB memory stick, or in a network connection folder. This speedy imager is a breeze to set up, just power up and begin, getting you up and running in less than 5 minutes with a rapid cooling 16-bit, 8.3 megapixel CCD camera with a 30 mm (f/1.4) fixed focus lens.
