The iBlot 2 Western Blot Transfer System is an efficient and reliable system that performs western blot transfer in as little as 7 minutes. The iBlot 2 system is a dry system; it does not require the use of any liquid buffers. This Invitrogen iBlot 2 uses nitrocellulose or polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) membranes to achieve results in a fraction of the time compared to wet systems.

This western blot transfer apparatus features a high detection sensitivity and consistent repeatable protein transfer by incorporating ion reservoirs into the gel matrix of consumable transfer stacks (transfer stacks are not included).  The great amount of ions is what allows the rapid protein transfer to occur.  Unlike conventional systems, no oxygen gas is generated from water electrolysis, which reduces distortion of blots.
