The Leica RM 2155 Microtome is an ideal choice for a variety of histology applications, with the flexibility to run automatically or manually for an added level of control. The use of the automatic mode allows users to quickly reproduce sections in just a few seconds, allowing this histology machine to be used for Quality Control. This microtome has a section range of 0.5 to 60 µm and can be used for either paraffin or industrial materials. Control knobs select section thickness and sectioning speeds.

The Leica RM 2155 Microtome incorporates several safety features to protect users and samples while operating, such as an emergency stop, protective hand-wheel guards, and a guard on the knife holder. As an additional safety measure, the handwheel can be locked in any position and should be used prior to adjusting the block or the knife.

This specimen feed system uses maintenance-free cross roller guides and steps motor-operated coarse feed system located in a dust-proof plastic cover. The controls include the Trim Step function with the Trip Step button.  Specimen retraction is visually indicated and can be turned off if required.  The retraction amount varies with the sectioning speed.  The Leica RM 2155 control panel is integrated in the front of the microtome with display, LEDs, and function keys for all key controls are ergonomically positioned to eye level.  Two motorized and one manual sectioning modes are available for this microtome as well.  Motorized sectioning is started and stopped by the footswitch.
