Life Technology E-gel Imager

The Life Technology E-gel Imager is a compact imaging system ideal for capturing gels incorporating fluorescent DNA stains such as Invitrogen SYBR Safe stain and Invitrogen SYBR Green stain, as well as for E-Gel EX agarose gels. This imaging system is flexible to your lab’s needs, consisting of a scientific grade, 1.3-megapixel camera hood, and interchangeable bases. This imager comes with an E-Gel Image adaptor base,  designed to provide power to either the E-Gel iBase/E-Gel Safe Imager base combinations or to the new E-Gel Go. The E-Gel Imaging System is lightweight and easy to use with intuitive software that controls the camera to capture crisp images and analyzing them from a quick check to an in-depth analysis.

The Life Technology E-gel Imager comes with GelQuant Express Software to help estimate the size and quantity of nucleic acid before moving on downstream steps. The windows based software of this gel imager provides quick quantitation automatically detection and analysis of bands. By using an advanced algorithm to detect band boundaries, even in distorted gel images, this gel imager easily calculates molecular weight and automatically reduces background noise. Results from the gel imaging system have a simple one-click data export to an Excel spreadsheet or as a jpeg image.
