The Chemagic 360 is a nucleic acid extractor that uses chromagen magnetic bead technology to provide a flexible sample processing solution. The Chemagic 360 by Perkin Elmer can provide medium to high throughput, handling sample volumes between 10ul to 10ml, depending on the extraction head installed. This unit is outfitted with a 96-rod extraction head, ideal for 96 well plates, allowing users to process up to 400uL of blood in 55 min. By transferring magnetic beads instead of liquid, the process ensures there’s no cross-contamination of samples.

The compact design, and intuitive software make the Chemagic 360 ideal for uses a broad range of applications such as biobanking and human genetics, virus and bacteria detection, and HLA typing. The Chemagic utilizes prepacked kits to eliminate cross-contamination and cover solutions for whole blood, saliva, buccal swab, DNA amniotic fluid, RNA isolation kits, Nucleic Acid in Pathogen Detection, and more.

The user-friendly software provides a high level of quality assurance, generating log files, LIMS compatible bar code reading and sample tracking, and preinstalled protocols, as well as tracking the progression of a run. The system also features easy navigation and set up allowing users to quickly get up and running. If users want to add automation to the Chemagic 360, the Dispenser 360 (available from Perkin Elmer) can reduce hands-on time by prefilling tubes and plates with a high level of accuracy.
