The L4r model is amongst the most popular lab mixers in the Silverson mixer line. Ideal for QA analysis, small scale production, routine laboratory work as well as research and development. A capacity of 1ml up to 12 liters give the ability to mix in-line with flow rates up to 20liters/minute. It offers excellent reproduction when scaling up, and accurately and easily provides a means to forecast the performance of large Silverson high shear mixer machines in their lineup if you wish to expand.  The L4R is for a range of applications including disintegrating, dissolving, emulsifying, and mixing. The Silverson mixer is for mixing samples at speeds up to 8000 rpm. The electronic speed control has an infinite amount of speed settings, allowing the user to adjust to the right speed. The Silverson high shear mixer speed should be increased slowly and steadily to avoid splashing and the spillage of liquid. Continuous running above 6.1 amps can result in motor damage. The lab mixer is designed for viscosities up to 10,000 centipoise.

The Silverson homogenizer body is lowered or raised electronically and stops at the highest and lowest point. Finished in a white nylon coating it is constructed out of 316 stainless steel with the exception of the bushing. An option is to have the flat base covered by a chemically resistant removable non-slip mat. This would help immobilize the jars and catch spills however it is not necessary. Please note that the enclosure is not waterproof and should be promptly cleaned if a spill occurs. If the electrical supply to the UNIT shuts off an automatic cut-out will trigger and trip the on/off switch at the back base assembly.  A safety measure to prevent a surge to the unit or operator if the electrical supply be reconnected while the operator is unaware. This safety feature eliminates possible injury to the operator.
