The Sorvall X4R Pro is a versatile and high-performance refrigerated centrifuge that is both powerful and easy to use, featuring a full-color touch-screen controller.  This screen allows users to monitor runs, rotor life, and centrifuge health at a glance. With a 4L capacity, or accommodating 196 blood tubes, 40 x  50mL conical tubes, and 96 15mL conical tubes, the X4R Pro MD has plenty of space to meet your needs. The centrifuge is compatible with a wide range of rotors, such as the TX-1000 swing rotor or any Thermo Fisher Scientific fixed-angle rotors, and offers features like instant rotor detection and auto-lock rotor exchange, making it simple to adapt to your lab’s needs.

The drive system is maintenance-free, direct, and brushless, using induction that will last for years. The centrifuge is constructed of sturdy PC-ABS plastic, painted with a 2K PUR-based lacquer, and features a cold-rolled steel housing with a powder coat finish, as well as a stainless-steel centrifuge bowl.  Thermo’s SmartSpin technology optimizes safety by instantly detecting any imbalances and alerting the user.

Users of the Sorvall X4R Pro MD can store up to 100 events and programs in the centrifuge’s memory, allowing easy access to saved run parameters for quick results. The centrifuge is energy-efficient, offering up to 40% reduced energy usage compared to industry standard protocols. The option to schedule the compressor to shut off when not in use, along with lightweight rotors, further reduces energy consumption.
