Thermo Scientific Varioskan Flash System
The Thermo Scientific Varioskan Flash is a robust Multimode Microplate Reader capable of running a wide range of measurements from low UV to near IR, so users can optimize their assays. This spectral scanning multimode microplate reader can read in absorbance and fluorescence and includes detection for photometric, time-resolved fluorescence, and fluorescence intensity. This Thermo Varioskan Flash microplate reader offers unlimited wavelength selection used for optimal performance, meeting the demands of today’s laboratory needs.
The easy-to-use multi-detection microplate reader has the ability to run Kinetic, ADMETox, Cell Signaling, enzyme, and ion-channel assays making it extremely desirable by researchers worldwide. Given that Thermo Scientific, Varioskan Flash has full wavelength scanning, end users can set up assays to run in low UV to near IR with a few clicks of a mouse. In addition, this spectral scanning multimode microplate reader is ideally suited for direct measurement of proteins, RNA, and DNA due large in part to the Photometric Pathlength correction.
The system works well with label-free assays used for protein structure changes by using Fluorometric UV measurements of fluorescent amino acids. The Fluorescent cell-based applications deliver optimal performance with the Thermo Scientific Varioskan Flash top and bottom reading feature along with the built-in high precision incubator. The flexible multi-mode microplate reader accommodates a broad range of microplates and is compatible with the new Thermo Scientific µDrop nanoplates.
With the built-in Time-Resolved Fluorescence technology, the Varioskan Flash delivers high-performance cellular assays without interference from biological background noise. TRF delay time optimization can be achieved by using automatic value calculation allowing the users to easily tweak their measurements for the best possible results.
The Thermo Varioskan includes the powerful Skant software, enhanced for easy assay setup, flexible data handling, and convenient report formatting. The SkanIt software comes with a built-in assay wizard that assists the user in a step-by-step process permitting for seamless workflow needed in today’s lab environment. The Thermo SkantIt software is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant and features audit trail recording required by the FDA.
