The UVP PhotoDoc-It Imaging System with UV Transilluminator is a lightweight, and simple to use method entree into fluorescence photo documentation. The variable intensity of the 302nm UV transilluminator has a high setting that excites gels with low sample concentration and is ideal for routine photography. The Medium setting is best for viewing and quick single band excisions, while the lowest setting comes in handy for positioning and preparation, or focusing for photography. The UVP PhotoDoc-It Imaging System is a lower key, lower-cost alternative to larger UV transilluminators, providing a faster lamp start-up, and consuming less power. No computer is required to operate this system. The illuminated stained gels are captured in brilliant color with a 2 megapixel, 4mm manual focus digital camera, positioned in the durable dark room hood from which users can transfer images through a memory card or USB connection. Applications include fluorescent stained gels, microtiter plates, colorimetric gels and autoradiographs, gel electrophoresis, DNA fluorescence, and protein fluorescence.
