The Molecular Devices SpectraMax M2E provides powerful multi detection reading for microplates and cuvettes in a flexible, dual monochromator, easy to use instrument. The M2e plate reader is a great choice for applications in DNA, RNA and Protien quantitation and purity checks, enzyme kinetics, drug dissolutions profiles, cytotoxicity assays and many more. This multi-mode plate reader features dual cuvette ports and is compatible with microplates from 6 to 384 wells. The built-in cuvette ports make for easy conversion and optimization of low-throughput assays into medium-high-throughput microplate assays. The Spectramx M2e has a broad wave length range of 250-850 nm, and detects in absorbance, fluorescence intensity, top and bottom fluorescence readings as primary modes, with time-resolved fluorescence, and luminescence as secondary modes.


The SpectraMax M2E Microplate Reader is low cost to operate, thanks to the dual monochromator platform, that eliminates the need for expensive add on excitation or emission filters. The already incorporated filter wheel, and scanning monochromators define the optimal excitations and emission settings, with the PathCheck sensor to measure the optical pathlength of samples in a microplate. The PathCheck sensor allows for homogeneous and heterogeneous microplate assays by getting rid of standard curves and detecting compounds with known extinction coefficient, allowing absorbance to calculate the concentration within the sample. This flexible reader system automatically normalizes the well absorbance to a cuvette equivalent of 1cm. The Spectramax M2e system can also act as an ELISA Reader and comes with built-in assay which are easily accessible through the SoftMax Pro software. The SpectraMax M2E Microplate Reader can do Endpoint, Kinetic, Spectrum and area-well scanning read types. This microplate reader can also operate as well as a dedicated spectrofluorometer, or spectrophotometer. In addition, the system can also act as an ELISA Reader and comes with built-in assay which are easily accessible through the SoftMax Pro software.
