GE Typhoon FLA 7000 Fluorescence Imaging System
The GE Typhoon FLA 7000 Biomolecular Imager provides high-resolution imaging, with a wide dynamic range, and high linearity. This gel imager has flexible imaging modes such as fluorescence, Phosphorimaging, and Digitization of colorimetrically stained gels, for precise quantitation of nucleic acids, proteins, and other biomolecules. This 4 laser scanner is an ideal choice for applications needing sensitive and quantitative measurements of radioisotopic labels by phosphor, single fluorescence, and digitization. Detection for this laser scanner is collected and transformed through a PMT, and then converted into a digital file for display and analysis. Data can be stored either in a linear 16-bit TIFF format or in a .GEL format encoding provides higher dynamic resolution.
This Typhoon phosphoerimager has high throughput with a scanning area of 24 x 40 cm, this imager and has a high resolution of up to 25um with a linear signal response that’s over 5 orders of magnitude. The FLA 7000 has two scanning speeds, standard and quick scanning a 24 x 25cm gell in less than two minutes at 100um resolution. The scanning area of 24 x 40 cm can process up to 12 gels or blots at once.
