The U570 has a temperature set point range from -50°C to -86°C at a maximum of 32°C ambient temperature. A digital keypad lets users quickly set the freezer to their desired setpoint. The user can also set high and low-temperature alarms to alert personnel of temperature variations with sound and indicator lamps. In the event of a power loss, the Eppendorf Ultra Low Freezer has a battery backup to alert personnel continually of conditions inside the freezer. The unit is equipped with S.M.A.R.T. Plus diagnostic software, which is used to help identify possible faults or setpoint variances.

The freezer is built to stringent regulatory requirements for environmental and safety precautions. The interior shelves and panels are made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, which is easy to sterilize and durable for rigorous use. Each shelf can support up to 88 lbs.
